Cory Michael "Moose" Mozak, Beloved Sioux City Native And Siouxland Hockey Mentor, Passed Away At 41 On May 23, 2026
Cory Michael "Moose" Mozak, a respected Sioux City, Iowa, native and cherished member of the Siouxland hockey community, passed away on May 23, 2026, at age 41.
Born on September 28, 1984, in Sioux City to Jeanne Hansen Mozak and Tim Mozak, Cory built lasting ties through family, school, sport, work, and community service.
Cory attended East High School, played junior hockey in Helena, Montana, and later studied at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
After college, Cory returned to Sioux City and mentored young athletes through Siouxland Youth Hockey and the Sioux City Metros while working with siblings to support future players.
Cory also worked with Mozak's Furniture & Flooring and later Shaw Industries, with life eventually bringing Cory and family to St. Louis.
Cory leaves children Kennedey, Kerrigan, and Collin Mozak, along with parents, siblings, extended family, friends, teammates, coworkers, and many grateful community members.
Memorial service details will be announced later by family members.
